From the Desk of the National President
When I started my first year as your President, I looked into members to put on the various committees and put those I knew would get the work done. Well, the year has gone by quickly and we’ve accomplished many things. Some of which are:
- During the year, with the help of Steve Carbone, we opened a new chapter, Indiana 1. As a result, they renewed some old members. Joel Hobbs, President of Indiana 1 was contacted by a friend wanting to renew his membership and expressing interest in starting chapter in Cincinnati.
- Our education committee, Steve Carbone and Dave Dargenzio meet on a regular basis and they are in the final stages of getting our education program on line.
- Dave and Steve have contracted for the improvement of our website to be completed over hauled. Steve will provide more details on this. Steve is also working on a News Letter.
- As a result of the continued success of the education programs, we continue getting membership from NAPEEF and Carbone Academy.
- Keeping various chapters informed on National happens, Steve and I have log into ZOOM meetings for MA-4, MD -5 and DC-1. Their members are appreciative and at times express concerns.
- The realignment of the regions is complete. It was decided that Tom Termini, Region 3 Director would be the temporary Region 4 Director
Our Bi-Annual meeting was held June 22nd. Elections for officers of the board were made and the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer were voted into office for another term. Regional Directors will stay in their respective positions.
Mary Catherine Johns presented the yearly budget, which was reviewed by those present at the meeting, voted on and passed.
At a Region 7 ZOOM meeting, I recently found out we have a member in Hawaii and Guam. During that meeting, Vice President Steve Carbone and I had the opportunity to meet the member from Hawaii. He expressed interest in education and Steve will be working with him. There was also a member from Cincinnati. Steve will be working with him on education, and he expressed interest in possibly starting a chapter.
The Crab Feast this year is Thursday, September 26th. The 2025 Convention is tentatively scheduled for the week end of June 27, 28 and 29th Information will be sent on both events as it is finalized.
I want to thank my Officers, Regional Directors and those who served on individual committees for their continued support.
Yours in association;
Dominick Pepe
