National Association of Power Engineers
Welcome to the National Association of Power Engineers!
The National Association of Power Engineers (N.A.P.E.) was first organized in 1882 and is now the oldest Engineering Association in the United States. For over 133 years N.A.P.E. has been dedicated to providing advancement through educational opportunities to its members and the general public.
Through traditional instructor led courses in our Chapter houses, Self-paced Online Courses, Books, Newsletters, a Quarterly Magazine, Chapter Meetings, and Conventions, N.A.P.E. helps bring new information and technology to Power Engineers across the nation, to ensure safe and responsible engineering practices.
N.A.P.E. has provided education, training and certification to Power Engineers and related fields for over 133 years. Can we help you advance your career?
Open enrollment is available year round for all Online Courses & Certifications!
Are you certified?
Distance learning courses now available to prepare you for Certification!
N.A.P.E.'s goal is to provide persons who work, or want to work in power engineering and it's related fields, with the credentials valued by employers in today’s job market.
N.A.P.E.'s Online Courses and Textbooks are available to help further prepare any individual for N.A.P.E.'s Power Engineers Certifications. We currently offer N.A.P.E.'s Power Engineers Certification for Basic Boiler Operator, Advanced Boiler Operator, and A/C Refrigeration Operator.
Will this Certification lead to Licensing?
There is currently no national standard or licensing requirements for power engineers and many Municipalities have no official licensing requirements. This can complicate matters for Power Engineers, our Members, our non-Member students and Employers
In jurisdictions that do not require State or Municipal licensing, N.A.P.E. Certification and nationally respected training provided through our Chapter houses and Online Courses are a powerful tool to prove your competence and dedication to your field to a prospective employer.
Whether you work in a licensed or unlicensed jurisdiction, training and certification from the National Association of Power Engineers provides you with credentials from a nationally recognized leader in Power Engineering training and education!
Not ready to invest just yet?
Need to discuss this with your employer? N.A.P.E. is more than happy to speak with you, or anyone who may sponsor you, about getting training and certification.
Proof of performance...provided through N.A.P.E. training
